Getting there

The venue is just south of Florence, or "Firenze", depending on how your Duolingo is going.

By Bike

If you’re tempted to cycle: Amsterdam is about 1,200 km away (15–17 days), London roughly 1,500 km (19–22 days), and New Zealand… slightly further. We recommend a flight.

By Air

The closest airport is Firenze-Peretola (FLR) which is small but convenient. Pisa, Bologna, and Milan work too, with scenic train or car routes from each. If you're flying long-haul via Rome, the high-speed train to Florence takes about 2h30.

By Car

If you’re renting a car, just a heads-up: some towns and city centres in Italy have restricted traffic zones (ZTLs) where only registered vehicles can drive. You won’t get stuck, but you can be fined if you enter without the proper permissions, so it’s worth checking in advance.

By Taxi

There's no Uber in Tuscany. Apps like Taxi Move, ItTaxi, and appTaxi let you book a taxi, but you pay the driver directly. Most take cards, though cash is handy near the villa where signal can be patchy. The most reliable option is Radiotaxi 4242, who also take bookings via WhatsApp at +39 334 662 2550.

On the wedding night, a taxi steward at the villa will help arrange cars home.

Where to Stay

We've included a few accommodation suggestions, some of which offer booking codes. Of course, you don't have to stick to these, as there are plenty of other great places to stay as well.

Central Florence is about 25–30 mins by taxi to the venue, or 15-20 if you're staying south of the river Arno.
